The sign stealing furore at Michigan State is fast becoming a nightmare for head coach Jim Harbaugh, and a Hollywood script in the making.
The latest twist in this deliciously juicy saga is that an ‘unidentified’ man, who may or may not be former Michigan staffer Connor Stalions, was spotted on the sidelines of the Michigan State versus Central Michigan in the season opener back in September.
Michigan State won that game 31-7 but the game will probably be remembered for other reasons, more script worthy moments.
“We are in the process of determining the facts surrounding them,” CMU athletic director Amy Folan told ESPN.com, via a statement. “As this process is ongoing, we have no further comment at this time.”
A person who looked like Stalions was identified to be part of the Michigan State side line, fully accredited, and taking in all the play-by-play action.
This comes hot on the news that Stalions, a former Michigan staffer bought tickets for 11 of the Michigan Wolverines opposition matches.
He bought all the tickets on his own name, and now footage has emerged of a person who resembles Stalions. If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck then it probably is a duck.
Under NCAA rules Harbaugh is ultimately responsible for his football program, so he will be under severe pressure.
He is looking for a potential move back to the NFL after coaching the 49ers from 2011 to 2014.
He has interviewed at the Vikings in 2022 and the Broncos in 2023.
