Elite 8 bound Wetport punche ticket to quarterfinal for third year in a row

WESTPORT — The Westport boys soccer team is once again Elite.The No. 8 Wildcats punched their ticket to the

MIAA Elite 8 for the third consecutive season after blanking No. 24 Hull, 8-0, in Thursdays Division 5 Sweet 16 game at Westport High School.

The undefeated Wildcats (19-0-1) will face top-seeded Sutton on the road Saturday, beginning at 3 p.m.

Ryan Borges, Marcos Dutra Africano, Ben Cross, Zachary Lopes, Matt Costa, and Nick Stanton each played a terrific defensive game. Noah Amaral stopped three shots on net to secure his 14th shutout of the season.
